From GETEMONTS:

A pullover vest made of polyester felt has arrived, featuring a large amount of remnant fabric left in the studio. The fabric is arranged in diamond shapes symbolizing the harlequin pattern and sewn together with a multitude of antique and vintage buttons.

This piece is a (Sub)Version of G's signature style, reminiscent of Junya Watanabe, Martin Margiela, Undercover, and archivio j.m.ribot.

Size:
Shoulder 42cm, Body Width 55cm, Length 65cm
* Pre-washed

This vest, made of a rough, yet appealing, gray felt, serves as the medium.

The harlequin check patchwork is created by improvisational fabric combinations, giving a strange rhythm to the visuals.

Adorning the sides and neckline are various buttons of different sizes and origins, creating a decadent design with frayed threads.

The "clown" laughing while holding his belly on the back is from the "Dark Knight" playing cards. The G logo printed above is swallowed by buttons, safety pins, and threads.

Actually, this is...

Constructed with the same design as a studded jacket, using studs repurposed as buttons.

"Quel che resta" means "what remains" in Italian.

Inspired by the ideas of Giorgio Agamben, the Italian philosopher and aesthetician.

His ideas are so complex that even experts in various fields struggle to keep up, and I often find myself falling asleep while trying to read them ← Just stop it already.

I think the "Situationist" ideas that Malcolm McLaren was so passionate about are the underlying theme of his vast, documentary-based philology. It's irresistible, I can't stop.

For me, the installation of used clothing by Christian Boltanski, visualized as Agamben's "Homo Sacer" through a large recycling shop, a kind of concentration camp, makes me think about "what remains."

Equally, not chosen, not discarded, not spared from incineration, not left behind, but what remains now.

Agamben's ideas are, in fact, on the level of early punk.

They subvert the dominant state, system, politics, and laws that people believe are natural, and the raw "realm" of human life.

The "remnants" are the ones who rise up and tell new stories in every age.
